Berlin Wall

The first thing you see when walking into the Museum of World Treasures is our Fossil Gallery containing Ivan the T.rex, not an 11-foot-tall portion of the Berlin Wall. However, near the Fossil Gallery, you will find just that!

From 1961 to 1989, the Berlin Wall literally split Berlin, German into East Berlin and West Berlin. The wall forced families apart and stood as a constant reminder of the political unrest present in Germany after World War II.

Starting in 1990, the wall took two years to completely demolish and remove. In partnership with the American Overseas Schools Historical Society (AOSHS), the Museum of World Treasures is honored to display such a large section of the Berlin Wall on our 1st floor.

Are you wondering why is this piece of 20th century world events can be found so close to the Fossil Gallery that contains specimens millions of years old? Ask a member of our staff!
